Pierre Berton, (NOT the Canadian writer) born Pierre François Samuel Montan on 6 March 1842 in Paris, came from a family deeply rooted in the arts. Initially an actor in Parisian theatres, he found success both on stage and as a playwright. His career spanned over three decades, where he balanced his roles as an author and performer. He eventually ceased acting but continued writing for the theatre until his passing. His memoir, "Souvenirs de la vie de théâtre," serialized in Le Figaro Littéraire from 1908 to 1909, was later published as a book in 1913. He was a writer, known for Zaza (1923), Zaza (1915) and Zaza (1938). He died on 23 October 1912 in Paris, France.
